Stories from Families

We are always inspired by families who open up about their journeys, helping others find connection and reassurance.

Our daughter has experienced difficulties with her mental health for some time and what didn’t help was that the places where she should have felt safe and the people she should have been able to trust, didn’t listen to her, didn’t believe her, didn’t understand her, and certainly didn’t support her

Bee-lieve Foundation came into our lives at a point where we had given up hope. They listened and they got it. Which when you’ve been struggling to help someone with mental health difficulties, especially when they’re a child, and you feel like you’re failing, that you’re letting them down, or that you could be making it worse, is honestly everything.

Not only did they make us feel validated and understood, but they also helped make sense of it. They empathised, they supported, and they helped put together a plan of action, which ultimately gave us back the strength we needed to help our child and to be able to go back to the places and people that had let her down and demand they do something about it.

It can be a lonely place when you’re caught in the thick of it. Making connections, seeking support, or even just talking about it with other people who get it, all helps.
